Creamy Chocolate Chip Cookies
You know that perfect sweet spot where a cookie is fully baked but still feels soft and creamy in the center? That is exactly what this recipe delivers. It uses everyday ingredients to create a rich texture that melts in your mouth without ever turning crunchy. It’s a fuss-free, reliable way to make the kind of comfort food that actually tastes like home.

Instructions

  • Mix the Butter and Sugar

In a large bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat them together (using a hand mixer or stand mixer) for about 2 minutes. The mixture should look pale and smooth. This creates the base for a soft texture.

  • Add Wet Ingredients

Add the egg, vanilla extract, and milk to the bowl. Mix until the ingredients are fully combined and the batter is smooth.

  • Add Dry Ingredients

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix slowly until the white streaks of flour just disappear. Be careful not to overmix the dough at this stage, or the cookies may become tough.

  • Add Chocolate

Pour in the chocolate chips. Stir them in by hand using a spoon or spatula until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Editors Note: We have arthritis and we use our stand mixer for this step, too. It doesn't harm anything if you don't do it by hand.

  • Bake

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

    • Bake for 9-11 Minutes. I found 11 to be the sweet spot for me in my oven.
    • Tip: Remove the cookies from the oven when the edges are golden brown, even if the centers still look slightly soft. They will finish setting on the hot baking sheet as they cool.
